These resources are best utilised in conjunction with individualised sessions in which the child is able to learn strategies to develop and enhance resilience.

The Invisible String – by Patrice Karst

This book explores the connection between parents and their kids through “The Invisible String” that reaches from heart to heart.

The Lovables in the Kingdom of Self-esteem – by Diane Loomans

This is a beautifully illustrated book which explores self-esteem through the animals in the kingdom.

All Dogs have ADHD – by Kathy Hoopmann

This book uses photographs of dogs to explore a variety of traits that are typical of a child with an ADHD diagnosis, such as being restless and excitable, getting easily distracted, and acting on impulse.

All Cats have Asperger Syndrome – by Kathy Hoopmann

This book uses photographs of cats to bring to life the familiar and unique characteristics of a child with Asperger’s Syndrome, such as sensitive hearing, scampering at the first sign of being stroked, and particular eating habits.
